1st time diving in Pulau Redang on 14-15/5. Only 1 photo that I like in the shots. Sadly that there is hot spot at the face.
A blog set up to document the things I learnt, read and tried to take a picture.

Damn tiring and lazy on 3 April 11. Finally managed to pull my lazy ass out of my home and head to the hockey court to see my old friends and old rivals. They have organised a tornament to get some fund to donate to Japan. Wanted to shoot some photos and earn some money by selling them and donate out. But seems that the photos are not really well done so scraped the idea. Here are some ok 1s.
Didn’t realize that I have not posted anything since June 2010. I have not been actively shooting. Some of the things I have shot are not posted for public viewing as well. This is 1 photo that I have shot today. It is my first pair of fins. The Jet Fin. Set up is simple.
Equipment used:
My idea is to use 1 flash to bring out the logo on the fin. I decided to use only 1 flash, shoot in low angle to create a harsh shadow the make the logo visible and still create a low key photo since the fin is all black. The water droplets were not there in the initial testing. After several shots, I find the fin looks rather white. Hence, use a damp paper towel hoping to remove it. Upon seeing the droplets, I think it may go well with the fin. I now feel that I have too little of them.
Camera setting: F14, 1/250, ISO 100, flash setting to commander mode with built in flash off and slave TTL –3.0.
Flash Setting: Remote triggered by D700.
Went out with all my gears and chose to shoot only with a 50mm.
:-)
Last shot is a stitched photo using numerous photos taken using the 50mm lens.
A colleague suggested that I should let the eyes and the chest piece glow. Which I totally agree. So try to do a fast job. I am not very good with photoshop but here goes.
Borrowed Iron man and War Machine from my colleague yesterday to take picture. Below is the result. Tried out rim lighting to give the character a mysterious feel. The face was not lighted up enough. Used a touch to shine on the figurine to light it up slightly to the amount that I wanted. Was too lazy to fine tune the lighting for War Machine’s rim lighting.
Covered the Aviva Ironman 2010 on Sunday. Took tons of panning shots and now I wonder. Am I panning too much???? As in, shutter speed too slow?
